JSC Farmers
Jim Cruickshank bought Westerton of Folla in 1977 and built the original potato store 1978 to store the crop from 10ha of land.
The Gammons, Rothienorman was purchased bringing the total area owned and farmed to around 150ha.
4 refrigerated stores and 1 handling and dispatch shed were built to bring capacity to around 4000 tonnes.
Greenhall, Insch was purchased bringing area farmed to around 260ha
Original Potato store was refrigerated so 100% refridgerated cold storage available
Over Tocher Farm was purchased bringing area farmed to around 300ha.
A further cold store and general purpose shed were built to bring all storage onto site and deal with smaller lots of different varieties.
The business diversified into fishing lodges and salmon fishing on the River Deveron. See www.deveronsidefishings.com for more details
A 500kW Wind Turbine was commissioned. This provides around 80% of the electricity requirements of the stores
A further 69ha of cropping was taken on at neighbouring farm, Baldyquash under a contract farming agreement
